The next batch of forum updates will be cut over today. As usual, there may be a bit of trouble shooting required so if you see anything amiss, give it to late afternoon EST before reporting it in this thread. The changes going online today include:

1. Super sized uploads for the IC galleries. You will be able to upload a second, optional file sized to 1200 pixels/500kb maximum.

2. A new, better organized Preferences page that includes additional fields for listing your personal website.

3. Already online, a new Member Sites links page (check out the Links menu in the header). Once the new Preferences page is loaded later today you will be able to edit your website listing from there, including "check boxes" for services offered - Prints, Calendars, Books and Workshops. Note - the Member Sites page is automatically updated once a day, so it can take up to 24 hours for your new listing or edit to appear.

4. No deletion of photos after a comment has been posted.

5. Avatars, WWW/Portfolio icons and signature fields for members only.

Thanks for your patience while we get this done!

Sounds like some neat updates. In particular the 1200pix option is great!

Sounds great Jim! I do have one glitch to report. I seem to have lost my ability to log in and out from anywhere but the front page. The other drop-down menus (articles, galleries, etc.) are still there on other pages, but not the Log-in/Log-out stuff.

Awesome upgrades Jim!

On the Member Sites page could you put an Alphabet of links at the top (like the Photographer Index in the portfolios) so people can click on a letter and navigate through the list of photographers a little easier?

Great updates. Does the new 1200 px limit also apply to the regional forums?

David, that glitch is now corrected (David and I have to get on the same page with a few include files).

Phillip, nice idea - I will discuss with David.

Jesse, the optional 1200 pix file is for (at least now) the main NPN IC galleries.

Should have this all ready to roll by the end of the day!

OK, updates installed. May need some tweaking so let me know if you encounter any problems!

Excellent changes throughout, Jim. :toast:

Jim--

I just tried uploading a 1100 pixel image from my hard drive and it wouldn't go. Says, "Image not found." Well hey, I found it.

Kent, we've got a couple posted already. I wonder if your connection is timing out?

Hi Jim,

The email icon is missing on the bottom of my list but can't seem to add it in my preferences?

Other than that these changes look awesome! You can see why NPN is No.1!
:toast: :toast: :toast:

EDIT: Also the option to select the time zone has disappeared in my preferences folder too!

Paul, the email info is entered near the top of the Preferences screen in the "personal information" section. Also, make sure you clear temporary Internet files to ensure you are seeing the updated version of the Preferences screen.

We are working on sorting out some issues with the time zone scripting - we hope to have that cleared up soon.

If anyone needs assistance, please contact me!

I've mocked up a new page for the larger photos to appear on. It includes some copyright warning and I'm also using one of those pesky right-click java scripts. Yes, I know but I think the repeated warnings about unauthorized use are worth it in this case.
