Ok, here is the pano, i was talking about in my previous post. It was a great light.. not sure i did justice in capturing it well.

d300, 70-200vr, 5H image pano.

Seems like we are not ready for 1200px post...
here is the big one.

You're right pano's need to be at least the pixel width of most screens ...1200-1800 is nice. I looked at your larger version to drink in more details. I like how you have composed this...valley surrounded by mtns. Good contribution from clouds. Light is nice, although a few more sunbeams casting light hear and there always adds more. One thing, if I were pressed to make a suggestion, would be to change the overall cyan or blue tint. I bet that would be easy...you mention this was not great light...did you manually set wbalance or auto? Ken S

Ken,

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, Light was great till those clouds on top right blocked. Some places it was snowing, i am not sure if the coulds speak about it or not. I captured it using 14bit RAW and manually adjuested the white balance.

Thanks, Murali

This is nice Murali. I like the openess of it. This deserves more work to make the killer print that I see frm this. Good Job!

Murali,

This is one grand panorama! I really like everything about this. The composition with the valley surrounded by the mountains is excellent. And despite the missing "drama light," I think the lighting goes right along with the weather conditions. I just think this an outstanding image and definitely worthy of a large print.

Regarding the 1200px, you'll be fighting two things. One is that the 1200px "option" is not available in the regional forums according to one of Jim's comments today. Secondly, the 1200px/500kb "option" will only be available to paid members. I'd say a pretty decent incentive to join Murali! :-)

Thanks Preston and Lon. i will fool around with Photoshop a bit more on this image.

Lon,

I used to be a paid member. It expired, but did not join back. This year is very very slow for me. I will join back in '09. This is a great place to watch, learn and improve photography.

I think this is a wonderful composition and I actually like the light here very much. It has a great mood to it.

When panos are done right they really can make a big impact. I really like this and I did also look at the larger size too. Thanks for sharing this scene, Murali.

Murali, Great light and good timing. Beautiful sweeping vista and nice late evening color.

That large version really begins to show the beauty of this pano. Personally I might favor a reduction of the magenta/purple cast just a bit... primarily to whiten the snow. But this has a great mood as presented as well. Well done!

Murali,
The Pano really works well here. I agree with earlier comments. Great image. Best Regards.
