I have been photographing the Deer now for the past four weeks but have wanted to stake out this spot but have not been able too because I don't think the deer would come when there is more than one person. I had a day off today so went while it was still dark and got into position. Fallow Deer are different to red as they have rutting stands where as the reds just follow the females. The light only lasted about two minutes but it was enough for me to get the shots.
Great capture, with wonderful light and atmosphere. i would have just liked a little extra space at the bottom for his virtual feet.

Cracking shot Danny, one of the best Fallow Buck pictures I have seen like this, the lighting makes the breath create so much atmosphere.. Almost like he's on fire with the breath and steam..
The processing is also very well done, I love how the colour of the breath comes across without the rest of the image being "too orange" if you know what I mean?
Damn fine piece of work

One tiny flaw as pointed out, but easily remedied - top shot Dan, inspirational Fallow shot

I have had the same problem with wild Fallow here in the forest.
Just too many people around during the rut.
