I didn't know what else to title this, but 'Trunk Line' seems appropriate. This was made just before the sun popped over the ridge on the South Fork of Bishop Creek while wandering around with Harley and Maggie.

Preston,
This is gorgeous! I don't know how much PS work you did, but I think Astia captured the colors beautifully here. I'd love to see the tranny and/or a print next time around. I really like the brightness of the main trunk relative to the scene (I think perhaps what some folks are looking for in my recent post,) and I also like the little swirls of brighter grass at the bottom. The yellows look good and this almost has a "gold" look to it, yet the color balance looks right on to me.
No complaints from me - oh, except for the default compression issues...

This is absolutely stunning. I think it is hands down the best photo of fall in the E. Sierra that I have seen this year. Not to mention it has to be one of your best. The luminance on those trunks is so silky rich and the whole image has this amazing golden glow. You just nailed it. You really should post it over at ESS.

Preston,
Very nice light. The darkness in the background really does something to the shot. It adds a lot of depth and gives the viewer a feeling that folliage canopy hangs just over head. Beautiful.
Nice work, Preston. Good composition, colors and well framed too. The upper canopy and two side dark rocks do a nice job of containing the vantage point & all around focus on the scene.
By the way, a Trunk Line to an ex-phoneman like me means an entirely different thing.

I like it Preston, especially the light tones in the tree trunks and that beautiful carpet of leaves, well done
