Here's a semi recent autumn capture from this year; well, about as fast as I can get film scans turned around. I was drawn to the various color contrasts. The blue sky and shaded light gave the organic oils a deep blue appearance that was quite intriguing. The following day, fellow MWNP member, Ken Bachofer, met up with me for a very enjoyable morning shoot.

Technicals: Tachihara 4x5, Fujinon 135mm, Fuji Velvia 100f, 10 sec @ f32

Very nice composition Joel, as always. To my eye, on my monitor, the coldness of the blue slightly overwhelms the warmth of the red.

It was an enjoyable shoot that day. Thanks for your inspiration.

Ken, thanks for the feedback - Yes, it was overly blue. I warmed the color balance quite a bit and updated the file. If you hit the "refresh" button, you should see the updated image. The first version was pretty much straight off the slide, and I didn't pay enough attention to the Velvia blue-cast. Thanks!

Joel - great stuff as usual. While the red leaves are clearly the star(s) of the show, I actually really like the dark brown/gold leaf in the upper right as well. It's a nice contrast....

The colors and textures are great, Joel. The mix of red and blue works very well here and as CJ said, the dark brown leaf mixes in nicely.
