Late hawker
Migrant Hawker (Almost sure ! )
Surprised to see this hanging on into the Autumn.
Taken out of the Snipe hide.
Pity about the reed stem in the background, but never mind.

Great capture John - very nice :wavey:

Wouldn't worry too much about the BG - capturing it so well in flight is art form enough

Thanks Andy
As you well know this is one of the easier ones to do in flight. Especially when they come to you instead of the other way around. !
I had them attacking a blue CD hanging up on cotton !

that's a nice one John, these are never easy (although I've never tried the CD trick!)

That's a stunner John. Did you say a Blues CD? Would that have been Dragonfly by Fleetwood Mac?

Hi John
I like the reed in the BG I think it adds and makes it pop, a nice shape image.

Regards :toast:

This is a male Migrant Hawker (Aeshna mixta) among the latest large dragonflies to be flying (can be seen into mid-November although with the current cold weather, this may not happen this year).
