I'm sure most of you have been to this location; the large turnout on the north side of S. Lake road, before the road starts to climb up the canyon. The morning sun was just striking the hillside above the creek and reflecting soft warm light back onto the creek and the tangle of aspens along the creekside. I really like the isolated rock in the creek, the few leaves swirling in the current and the warm light reflecting on the creek and lightening up the far side of the creek. Once again, even with all the other photographers in the area, no one was stopped here; the parking area was pretty full later in the day though, with lots of tripod carriers walking around.

Yep, the rock makes a perfect focal point for the entire scene, Reno. Very nice overall. From your description I kind of know where this is, but not exactly. I'll have to poke around some time when up there to see if I can find it. As stated, looks like the light really came together here just at the right time.
Sweet light, Reno. I like the rock and all the textures in the photo. The combination of light and texture is very nice and gives a quietness to the scene.
Harley and I stopped at this spot a couple of different times but couldn't put anything together. You did very at this spot, here.

I think a narrower crop to focus on the rocks and trees w/o the side stuff would make this a tighter image.
