Wooing or mooing? Bull bugling
Sorry about the multiple elk shots...but this was so cool! Shot in Beaver Meadows on 10/03 late afternoon.

Nice catch of the Bull bugling!. Light is a little flat, but not something we can always control!. How many other people were lined up along the roadside, it's crazy up there in Fall

yeah, overcast skies late in the day, and a serious elk jam. Folks were tailgating with picnic chairs, wine, etc. It was funny> Mornings were better w/ fewer people, and the elk were more active.

Very nice portrait/moment, but the missing feet are a big problem.

"I cant' feel my toes - wait, I don't have any toes!" - donkey
sorry,

Crop to include the head and chest and you'll have a very nice head shot.

this was a rare hybrid bull elk that had "nubs" instead of hooves. Ok,Ok! I get it. I was trying to get all the 'pointy things" on his head, and cut his feet off. Give me a minute and I can probably find an image with the proverbial "lightpole" growing from his head.

Nice shot. Could be a little sharper. I agree about the cropping suggestion.

thanks for all the feedback. here is the cropped version. As far as the sharpness I put the image thru corel paint pro high pass sharpening. Hopefully this will help. I shot the picture with a canon 20d with a 70-200 telephoto lens with a 2x teleconverter, on a manfrotto-bogen magfiber tripod with a mini-ball head.
