Hey, I think I know where this one was captured. Between the tall grasses and the upper leaf canopy as well as the BG leaves, the tree trunks really stand out very nicely here, Preston.

In your last post, the carpet of fallen leaves made the image stand out for me. The "carpet" of dry grasses and the small grouping of Aspens makes this one for me, good stuff, let's see some PRINTS

Another wonderful winner Preston! I remember this scene very well and honestly, it looks much better in this capture than I thought it might. The grasses do indeed make for a wonderful base, the colors are great and the details, excellent. If it wasn't for the previous image from Bishop creek, I would say this was my favorite.... Stop it already!

Wow, I would have walked right past this scene without ever thinking to take out the camera. The mixture of leaves, trunks and grasses is wonderful. This has a really nice balance to it and I'm sure the details in the grasses would be great in print. No nits here, good stuff!
I did an 8x10 proof print of this. The detail, especially in the grasses, came out nicely. Image compression really kills all the highly detailed LF shots I've seen here. Ack! Oh, well--not much can be done about it, I suppose.
I like the comp and content, but the image looks a little bright to me. Could be the compression making it look at little munched (a very technical term)? The proof is in the print.

I love the texture of the grass and tree bark. Wonderful shot. Is this a full frame with the 300mm? Best Regards. Michael
