This was shot in the fault zone south of Buffalo Peaks Wilderness and north of Trout Creek. I'd always thought the area look kinda ugly as I passed by in route to Buena Vista, but inside I found it far more intriguing. A network of small streams and canyons works down through meadows and canyons, with fine views of the Collegiate Peaks beyond.

Ooh! Mighty fine Mel! I like the little splashes of yellow peeking out in the ULC. Too often I have driven by a little gem because I did not take the time to explore a bit. Nice work!

Cool--looks like an awesome spot to explore!

The contrast and/or light looks a bit harsh to me, but the comp is spot on.

Very nice! I don't think it's harsh at all.

In response to Todd's comment about harsh lighting, I'm still learning to scan color negative film and I may have applied a bit too steep a curve for some, but I'm pretty happy with it as it stands. The light was not particularly harsh. The sun set minutes after I took this shot. The curve was parabolic in shape rather than the S-curve typically applied to digital images.
At least I got the color balance reasonably under control. Cutting the safety layer has been a major PITA for me.

Light looks good to me!. I really like the yellow intermingled within the rock and dark green evergreens, great find Mel!.

Cool color, I like the rock formations too. If this is where I think it is, there is a lot to explore.
