Last Light
For me, it's always a bittersweet end to the fall color in the Buffalo River area - glad to be able to experience the beautiful landscape, but sad to see it end. After I finished shooting yesterday - even had my bag zipped up and ready to go - I stood there watching the light fade into dusk. I was admiring this sweet gum tree, and thought what a fitting scene it was to what I was feeling. So I grabbed my camera, setup, and was able to get a few more frames before the sweet light was gone.

It was great to see everybody again this year, and I really enjoyed the comraderie - and look forward to doing it again next year!

Bill, a fitting way to end a great weekend. The light in the trees and on the bluff behind is spectacular.

Bill a beautiful image. Lovely multi colors and great light that really show off the colors. Thanks for the great brunch.

Your description adds even more serenity to this image Bill. As if the tree itself doesn't want the light to go. Wonderfully done.

Sorry I didn't make it on over to Steel Creek Saturday night. On a hunch I headed to Pruitt to check out a few trees along the bluff line.
Looks like I missed a great opportunity.
You captured some great light here.

All I can say is WOW ... what a way to end the weekend Bill! As you might expect I was feeling much the same way when I left but it's even more hard hitting for me because I can count on two fingers the number of times I've gotten to experience this fall spectacule in person.

On the bright side I've been blessed to be introduced not only to the natural beauty that is Arkansas but I have had the pleasure of getting to know some of the true gems of Arkansas ... its people (that's you guys)!

BTW Bill, I love intimate shots like this and I wish I'd added a few to my collection but I was overwhelmed with the expanse of the beauty and color and forgot to get up close and personal. Great shot!

The lit up leaves really stand out against the shaded bluff. Beautiful shot!

It's always hard to pack up and go home from a great photo trip... Good shot!
