I stopped by Artist Showcase today to drop off a print and as I was on my way out the door, something caught my eye. It was an image from RMNP by one of my favorite photographers...Erik Stensland. I have to say it was an incredible image. Sam says it is about 48X105. The sharpness was as good as I've ever seen and the colors were awesome! Very nice work Erik.

Thanks Jack! I'm fairly happy with it myself. It is a composite of 24 images with the Canon 5D. I may order a slightly smaller version for the gallery.

What kind of computer do you use to work on a file made of 24 images??

I would love to see that print.

Kevin, I put it together with AutoPano Pro and then output a smaller image to work with on my computer. I also output a full res-version which I had PhotoCraft edit to match my smaller match print, since I simply didn't have the computing power.

I'm curious Erik, was this like 8 bracketed images, then blended and finally stitched? I've heard of some photographers who use foreground, middle and background focus but all that just confuses me..lol.

No Jack, this was simply three rows of vertical shots that were overlapped and then stitched together.

Erik, could you post a copy of this stitched image?

I'd also like to see a shot of you standing in front of the house sized finished product. :)
