This shot was taken at about 1:00 am on Monday. I'm glad no one else had the same idea because they would have found a couple of D300's and Nikkor lenses sitting on the river bank while my brother and I were roasting marshmallows back at camp.

The star trails are fantastic here Aaron. The placement of the bluish and white trails over the rock cliffs is done very well. The rock face itself has an odd look to it, maybe from the wide aperture and the focus on the stars themselves? Sure are some fine looking trails though.

A technique that I've yet to try Aaron. You couldn't have picked a more beautiful location to make this image. Very well executed.

Nice star trails Aaron, I had to get my calculator out to figure out that your exposure was 73 minutes plus the same for noise reduction. Man that is a battery eater!

I like the trails, and you positioned yourself just right. Well done. I was hoping to try some trails last weekend but ran out of time.

Brad - I will reprocess this some time to make those rocks look more natural. I'm just glad I got the North Star centered. Thanks everyone!

Very nice, Aaron - you'll have to let us know when (and where) you're going to do this again!
