I love the warm light coming in and hitting water - it was really amazing to see in person. I printed this image @ 16x24 on metallic paper - wow, not every photo works on metallic paper, but this one does.

(first time posting an image, hope I did everything right)

Rick, that is an awesome shot! Love the side lighting.....

This is a very nice one. I second what John said about the sidelighting. I'm sure it does look good on metallic.

With all that is going on here, I think I'd crop off the right area to eliminate the right-most sunlight and frame this a bit better. Most of the interest is in the left and right-mid frame anyhow.
The extreme highlights of the sunlight are a bit distracting.....especially the bottom right corner. With the crop and edge burns all around, it will focus better towards the center, and let the detail of the cascades throughout the frame balance it well.
It's a great first post for sure.

Awesome shot, Scott. I agree 100% with Chris on the crop and blown highlights though. I might even crop up from the bottom to get rid of the green on the LLHC rock as well.

I really like the shot, but would crop a little off both edges. It would get ride of the hit spot on the right and the less interesting rock on the left edge. The side light is great. Neat first post.

Thank you all for your replies, I will work on re-cropping the image sometime soon.

Awesome photo Scott! When was this taken? I'm hoping to get to Ramona Falls sometime next summer.

Thanks Austin - it was taken August 28th around 6pm.
It is a fairly easy hike, technically a loop, but my suggestion is to take the "left" path along the creek. The "right" path goes along the Sandy River and it is just ugly with all the damage from flooding, etc. The little creek is a lot prettier and there are some really interesting rock walls too.

Late afternoon light is the best since the falls are facing west.

Very nice. I'll go against the grain and say I like the right side. The very left seems not as interesting to me. I reaslly like the glow you have captured.
