I work at Moorgate central London, 10th floor. A colleguae of mine just walks up to my office and says: Rene there is a strange bird sitting outside on the window.
I walk up and can't believe what i see: a water rail has been sitting there for a couple of hours.......unbelievable!

Kool!! Worth taking the camera to work then?
I saw a programme on TV once about how you get random birds in the city sometimes as they migrate over cities at night and somtimes stop off because its warmer. Or something like that.

Bizarre! I've been told that a good time to find strange things is after a heavy downpour during migration seasons. Anything up in the air that starts getting pelted might drop down to shelter wherever it can and thus you get things turning up where they shouldn't be.
