Not everyone will agree with me about this, and I have no interest in an argument, but I think some may appreciate the following heads-up:
The image request that was sent out on 10/27 (asking for a variety of tropical bird species) comes from a company, Rod and Staff Publishing, that publishes a variety of anti-science, young-Earth publications.

I noticed that the selection of bird species of which they were requesting images did not have any particular phylogenetic relationship to one another. This seemed peculiar for a multi-volume set on birds -- why would they disregard the birds' evolutionary history?

So I looked into the company and their other publications. They are unapologetically anti-evolution.

For my part, I will not be offering my images to them. You may, of course, do with this information what you will :) Like I said, I'm not interested in an argument. But I suspected that others might appreciate this information.

Cheers,
Neil

No argument needed one way or another. Information is key in the decision making process. Thanks for probing, and for informing us, Neil.

Thanks Neil, at $25 an image I wasn't too motivated to dig through my files anyway.

FWIW, we do filter all image requests, but only to the level that they are reasonably specific and appear legitimate. Beyond that, it's up to each member to decide if the request is something they wish to respond to.

Of course, Jim! FWIW, I certainly didn't anticipate that you'd screen you image requests in this way. I intended my post here just as an "FYI," not to imply that this post somehow "slipped through the cracks" or anything like that. Keep up the good work with the image requests :)
I just thought I could add a useful piece of information to people's decisions.
Cheers!
