Just back from Arches!

Art, yes the cottonwoods are awesome! I just got back from from Arches and took a driving break at the Rifle visitior center. It was gorgeous. I did lots of hiking in Arches, oh yeah, and took a bunch of photos, go figure! It was very smokey, apparently from a fire near there darn! I almost decided to head to Zion but, I made the best of it though and got some nice shots. I guess I will be processing all weekend. Bret, sorry we could not get together but I had one for ya at the Moab Brewery. They have grate food too! Zion reports this weekend through the next couple of weeks should be excellent.

I've also been photographing in Arches - I've been here over a week now. The cottonwoods have been getting better everyday, so I'd say there around peak right now.

Hey Grant, I wonder if we crossed paths at all. Tere were many more people than expected for this time of year. I was staying in the motel "Pathfinder" in Devils Garden campground. That whole place is awesome! I wish I could have stayed a few more days. I will be posting some photos in the next few days. Hope your trip is succesfull!

I'm guessing we probably didn't cross paths, as I was doing lots of night photography or heading to less-visited spots. Had lots of clear skies, so it was perfect for the night shots. Look forward to seeing your pics.

I was so tempted to try some star trails... not something I have played with yet. I was getting up early everyday so needed the sleep. Looking forward to seeing what you captured as well.
