I felt compelled to come here and write a word of thanks for this post. In the past 48 hours my website has seen the most visitors since I uploaded it years ago. Even more than when my book was announced.
The cash donations and book and painting sales have rendered me to tears at least a dozen times in this short time. I am deeply touched and moved because I know that 95% of you have no clue who I am. But you came and you donated anyway. (I'm an old timer here. Joined way back in 1999 but have dropped out of the photography forums to pursue writing and painting projects.)
To keep an emotional, heart-wrenching (for me) story short, this has happened to me so that I could see again how beautiful people are ... to restore my faith in the basic kindness of human beings. For years I couldn't see that, but the message is loud and clear now. And I have been humbled. And thanks to you I am becoming a better person, both inside and out.
God Bless you, thank you, and know that you have done more good for me than you can possibly imagine.

Thanks Richard for the notice. You can donate via paypal so it's really easy. I also posted your notice on NSN, hope you don't mind.

Gloria - i don't have much to give, but i hope it helps. The best to a speedy recovery!
Read about this on NSN. I may be repeating myself but it still amazes me that in this day and age there are people in well developed countries who are out of luck simply because they have no health insurance. I didn't realize to what extent this went but this particular case helps to publicize it. Bought her e-book and made a donation as well. Hope she gets the medical help that is needed.

I missed this during the times that I was unable to spend much time online. Glad I found it now. I'm glad that purchases from Gloria's Web site will help her medical situation. The E-book looks like just what I need, as someone who has used photography for illustrating scientific work and documenting trips, rather than as art. I am sure it would benefit a lot of NPN members, too.

Gloria, I'll keep you in my prayers. Richard, thank you for the heads up. I'm always glad to help a fellow photographer in need.
Well I am absolultely astounded at what I am seeing here, but so thankful that I stumbled across this. What a blessing to know that people will still take the time and help someone that most have never met. Wow!
Gloria I hope your recovery continues to go well and I will definitely be checking out some of your work!
