Got out yesterday with Brad to shoot the Konza prairie (among other things). After scouting for about 3 hours we narrowed our sunset choices down to two locations. This image was made as the sun dropped below a well defined cloud bank and illuminated the prairie in glorious light. Does the bright UL work in this shot?

Gorgeous shot Wayne. Glorious light indeed. The bright UL works for me.

Are you sure we're in Kansas? Gorgeous. Dorothy would love it . . . and so do I.

To me the UL is a bit incongruous, but the image is so full of great stuff that I probably wouldn't even have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned it. Just an outstanding shot.

With shots like this, maybe we should think about a fall gathering in Kansas next year! This is just fantastic Wayne - one of your best I think. I love the light in the UL...gives the scene such drama. And the quality of light throughout, well, it just doesn't get any better than this. Stunning!
Beautiful shot! Love the composition and the glowing cottonwoods. The light looks great to me.

Beautiful capture of the Konza Prairie, Wayne. In a way, the bright UL seems out of place, but it does lead along the highlighted trees. I agree with Randy's opinion that there is to much good stuff to be truly bothered by the bright spot.

Wayne, great shot, it is really nice how the sun warms the whole scene.

Well I don't have problem one with this Wayne. I'm still seeing this spot when I close my eyes. The brighter UL does not take away from this to me at all, and it is a very realistic impression on how the light was sweeping in from this area. It ever so slightly seems to have an orangish tint to it in the very corner. I'm not suggesting it takes anything away from it, just wanted to make you aware of it.

Nice use of elements in the fore, middle and back to lead your eye through and make it interesting. It has a nice fall feel.
