Its very easy to be sucked into the big mammal/bird/landscape thing and I'm often very guilty of it I must confess.

However I also like looking for the less obvious, often lying at my feet.

I'd been seakayaking all day in clouds of moon jellyfish and when we went ashore to camp I went to photograph some of the ones that had washed up as the sun went down, just as it neared the horizon. Another camper came across and said "nice sunset, you'll get good images with that big lens" (canon 35-350) and I said 'not photographing the sunset, its the jellyfish" and he went "eh" and when I pointed out then showed him the pic I was after he gasped and ran off to get his own camera and ended up with equally wet knees down on the sand beside me.

Sometimes a wee bit of magical light can make even the most mundane subject into something quite wonderful.

it's an interesting subject, although it maybe needs to be seen a bit larger for full effect.

Very strange shapes, it looks like it has cartoon eyes. The colours and textures are very interesting. Nice to see something so different. Tristan
