This little Anasazi granary was tucked away into the corner of a small alcove in NE Arizona. Unlike most alcoves with structures that face out toward the canyon flows, this one faced a sheer sandstone wall with a huge window like arch carved out of it about 100 ft. away. The sheer wall bounced the direct sunlight back into this area, which was a perfect viewing platform to enjoy the autumnal cottonwood lined canyon bottom through the 'window'.
Most likely exactly what the builders had in mind...

Beautiful image John, I really like the composition with the granary way off to the side and how the lines of the alcove take you right to the granary.
Oh, and thanks for your suggestions on techniques for that Yellowstone image I posted awhile back. I haven't had a chance to work on it much but appreciate your insight

Man...you're fast!!! Great job on this. I like your placement of the granary better than what I did in the lrc. Definitely a nice bonus for the outing! Good to see you stayed awake on your drive home!! A return engagement is definitely in order.

Talk about leading lines! What a great comp. This looks like a fascinating place to explore.
