Autumn sunset (with repost)
I headed up to Lee Creek this afternoon, but found most of the color kind of muted in the area and the winds were blowing! I did find some decent color along the road between Lee Creek and Chester. This shot was from Kimes Mountain Road at sunset today.

Dang it, now I really wish I was out roaming around this weekend...

I'd say you found some very nice color and a nice sunset to boot! Crop the top to a pano format and you've got a wonderful fall image! Good work Tom!

I'm glad you found some colors :). I agree with Wayne, cropping the top will improve the image.

Beautiful color Tom! And what a killer sunset! I like Wayne's crop suggestion, and I might also take out the road on the far right...just a thought. Nice work!

Great color and mood on this Tom. The bare tree on the lower right really anchors the scene. Is Kimes Mountain road off 220?

I drove some of that area on Saturday and it was looking pretty good. The creek along Mill Pond road going east out of Cedarville had some nice looks.

Thanks for the suggestions on the crop, I will try this and repost when I get home tonight.

Ed, Kimes Mountain Road is about a halfway between Chester and the community of Lee Creek. You can get there by taking the Old 12 Crossroad from 220 or from Chester. It is about 5-1/2 miles from either direction. It heads south and there is a good vista from the road on the right about 1-1/2 miles south of Old 12 Crossroad.

I agree with the cropping suggestion, Tom. You've found a nice bed of color here!

Great colors! Make it a pano and it will be fabulous!

Here is a rework in pano format with the road on the lower right removed. Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Nice composition Tom. I like how the mountains just keep on receding.
