This is a sunrise from the Three Sisters Wilderness in Oregon last August. A storm was moving in so the sun only broke through the clouds for a brief moment and soon after this photo it began to rain for many hours. I was mostly shooting the light hitting the mountain but I turned around and really liked this composition. There's a bit of flare but I think it adds to the photo. This is a bit harsh of a photo with a lot of contrast which I try to avoid but I kind of like this exception.
What is the easiest way to get rid of the distortion causing the bent tree effect? Thanks!

30d 10-22 some flimsy tripod.

That's a tough exposure for sure, but the scene has great contrast (as opposed to getting washed out by the direct sun on the lens) and wonderful golden color everywhere.

I don't know the fine details of correcting perspective, but I know that in PS you can go to FILTERS-->DISTORT-->LENS CORRECTION and use the REMOVE DISTORTION slider.

I think there's a program called PT lens correction or something similar that you can download for free if you don't have PS.

Eliminate the distortion and this is a real winner in my book. Beautiful!

I think this image makes getting rained on worth it! Very nice! I'd love to see it after you go through the corrections suggested above.

I think I saw this on POTN awhile back.... Even with the slight distortion I think it is a beautiful shot. Good job!

Sensational! Show it again after straightening the trees.

Striking image Khrisian! The distortion doesn't bother me as much as the flare spots, and the bright highlights on the river. Also, the water, in spots has, has a purple tint. If you could somehow change it from purple to more of a blue it might look a bit more natural. Nice work on what looks like a pretty tough exposure. I love the sunbeams.

I think this shot is definately worth working on some more. I like the flare rays, just not the spots. The flare spots should be fairly easy to clean up with some careful cloning. The highlights on the water should be fixable as well, but they kind of go along with the rugged, contrasty nature of the photo, anyway. As for the lens distortion, thats kind of a pet peeve of mine, any try to be very conscious of it when objects we know to be straight are near the frame edges. To get those trees straight on the URHC with the lens correction filter might really mess things up in the lower part of the photo. A better option might be to crop some off of the left side, getting rid of the worst offenders. Then some perspective correction could be applied, if still needed. I too would like to see this if you decide give it a little TLC.

A very striking image with a lot of elements to explore. I echo the comments of Chip and Aaron about the flare spots. Also, the water appears to have a magenta color cast. I'm not bothered much by the perspective issues. A little bit of tweaking and you'll have a winner.

too orange/yellow.

I like this image Khristian! As others have mentioned above there are things to adjust/correct but the mood is in this big time! PTLens will fix the leaning trees. Google PTLens to find it online.

Thank you everyone for the super helpfull comments and suggestions!
I for the most part agree with what everyone has said and will spend some more time on this one. I downloaded the PTLens trial and will see what it can do. I will also try cloning and desaturating the water flare marks so they aren't distracting.

Thanks again!
