Camping in Cannon Beach area?

I have a few free days later this week and decided that I am going to head up to Cannon Beach for the Stormy Weather Arts Festival. I rarely make it farther north than Cape Kiwanda, and would like some opinions for tent camping up there.

I am planning on scouting around seaside to Cape Falcon. Anything relatively close will do.

On a side note, does anyone know of some high quality landscape, or nature photography galleries in Oregon? I have yet to find a whole lot that really knocks my socks off. I am interested in examining some first class fine art prints, to see how the prints I am making stand up to others.

Thanks for any info.

I'm pretty sure the campground at Oswald West State Park is open year round. Its all walk in, but its very nice and only about 500 feet away from Short Sand Beach.

Better check on Oswald West, I think the camp area was closed after a large tree fell across a camp site a few months ago. There were very few cars in the lot on a beautiful 65 degree week end two weeks ago. Nehalem Bay state park is a good in between spot with the three capes loop to the south and the Cannon Beach area to the North. If you can get to Hug Point at a low tide, do so.

Fort Stevens isn't very far away either

I've car camped here before because of the great proximity to Ecola. Nothing special, but it worked just great for my purposes and was reasonably priced.
