Canon 1D Mark III
Canon 17-40mm F/4.0 L @ 17mm
Tripod/Remote Release/Bubble Level
1/100 sec @ F/6.3 ISO 1600

Yesterday Nancy & I finished a paid shoot then headed out to run errands. After finishing our errands we found ourselves with some time in the late afternoon/early evening and in Bellevue so on a whim we headed over to Bellevue Botanical Garden. It was, to put it mildly a "Target Rich" environment! This was taken in the Yao Garden which is the Japanese section of the larger garden.

If you are in Bellevue "camera in trunk" I STRONGLY advise stopping by BBG!!

Rick, this is a very pretty scene, however, I find the sharpness too extreme for this dimension/resolution. There is just too much jeggedness in the details for my taste.

Lovely view Rick! I like your comp with the bottom corners framing the color just right. The rocks provide a nice anchor. One suggestion would be to do a blurred selection of the sky and to darken it a bit so that it doesn't distract as much from the great color.

My initial JPEG was my first foray into sharpening in PS CS4 and I admit it was a rush job... This repost was also done in PS CS4 but I chose to use the Marc Adamus sharpening method this time around.

Lovely comp, Rick! And great color at this relatively late date. I shall have to remedy the fact that I've never been to BBG!

Nice work Rick. I might try and pump up the reds a little. They look a little washed out on my monitor. I like the comp. Looks like a lovely place.
