fall in BW
tried a little macro this fall since central indiana had a dry summer and the colors haven't been all that great. What do you think?

and another one (ash leaf)

Two thumbs up! The graphic nature of these subjects lends itself well to black and white. Good use of diagonal lines also. Personally, I think the second has more impact than the first - both because of the stronger diagonals, and also because the light veins stand out from the dark background more than in than the first one, where the tones are almost reversed. My two cents, at least.

I like these a lot, would make a good pair hanging on the wall. I like the very simple, graphic compositions.

Love the excellent definition of the second image.
Great idea, and you pulled it off flawlessly!

Fantastico! I think I like #2 better, but they're both great.

These are great, Amy! I agree with Scott, they'd look good hanging together. The upper right hand vein on #2 is a tad close to the corner for me, but I don't think that detracts from it. Nice work.

Cool idea. That second one is really striking.

Another vote for #2, though as others mentioned, they are both striking...I like the fresh perspective on these...nice job finding a interesting subject given the circumstances.

Very creative and well executed, Amy. I really like #2.

Very creative, and a great subject for B&W. My vote goes to #2, I like the pattern of the veins better and the darker tones.

Excellent bw subject matter. I agree, the 2nd is the best one.

Very nice Amy. They are both abstract and at the same time we can easily determine what they are. I think I would hang them as verticals myself, but that isn't a big deal.

I wouldn't mind having either one, or both on my wall. Very good, and this coming from a man who thinks b&w of fall color is sacrilege.

Really cool. Both are good but I like #2 a bit more. Nicely done.

Very nice work!! Although I prefer #2, I think I would print these and hang them together. I think they complement each other nicely...

Very nice, Amy! Glad to see that even without super fall colors you got out and made some really great images. I love the graphic nature of these, and as others stated, they are technically very well executed.

#2 is a real stunner. Very powerful!
