Political Intrigue? (non-nature)
No, I'm not getting political on election day (though it would be so easy to do)! This picture is from a Southwest Missouri Camera Club field trip held in downtown Springfield last Sunday.

There was some great evening light on this building and 9 photographers were busily shooting anything passing by this door (in this case, we convinced a bike rider to pass by a few times).

I didn't think anything of it until a curious/concerned woman approached us from the front of the building and wanted to know what we were doing. It was only then that we realized that the building was the Obama headquarters for Greene County! I can only wonder about what kind of monkey business they thought we were up to - though once we explained ourselves, they were pretty cool about it.

Anyway, happy election day. And regardless of your favorite candidate - GET OUT AND VOTE!!!

Hey Tim, I don't have a dog in this fight but since you mentioned him I want to add this note about Obama and Springfield. My daughter was 45 feet from him during the rally in Spg. the other day. I don't think it matters what she becomes in life, or if she is a democrat, republican, green party, or independent, or nothing at all like her old man, but the inspiration she got from Obama during his speech is something that will stay with her - and improve her life and the lives of everyone around here - by a large margin - for the rest of her life. It was a life-changing experience for her in a very positive way - such a refreshing change from the politics as usual from most political types these days!

Good story Tim. With emotions running high I'll bet they did want to know what a small group of people was doing loitering around outside their building!

BTW, I like the pic too.

Interesting shot Tim - I like it too.

I'm afraid there are going to be some very long lines to vote today...my wife voted early yesterday and only had to wait an hour-and-a-half. But I'm glad to see such a good turn-out. I just hope that there are no lawsuits filed by the loser, like the last couple of elections. Our voting system really needs an overhaul before 2012.

Jeez - it needed to be overhauled for the 2004 election and I think a lot of areas are still waiting. Though it's hard for me to complain too hard - I was the only one in my line.

I waited 45 minutes outside in BEAUTIFUL weather. Can't complain.

Excellent shot. I like "shadow" shots.

Tim E, I shook JFK's hand at the Oklahoma City airport when he was running for prez. Changed my life, too.
