From Tim E's earlier post, it sounds like I may have hung around the Buffalo area too long. I hope to still be able to find some color in the Ouachitas this weekend...in the meantime, here's another from Steele Creek.

Spectacular shot Bill. When did you take this? I was at Steele Creek yesterday afternoon, but only had time to rush a couple of shots of the tall sweetgums at the edge of the field being backlit just before the sun sank below the mountains.

I'd say you got the best out of this area, Bill. Gorgeous!

Beautiful shot of one of my favorite spots in the Steele Creek area. Low-angle afternoon light just makes it glow.

Thanks John, Randy, and Tim. This was taken a week-and-a-half ago. Last weekend there seemed to be more bare trees, but the sweetgums along the field seemed to be holding up fairly well. How did they look yesterday John?

Perfectly done Bill! I don't believe I've ever stood at this particular spot but if I do sometime, I'm pretty sure I won't capture anything as nice as this! Great shot!

The sweetgums along the field still had most of their leaves, which were predominantly orange. An older tree on the west end seems to have lost about half its leaves, and they were all brilliant red when backlit.
