Wow, there is a lot going on here, but I like it. Interesting layers of different "stuff. I like the background. It is kind of abstract.

I like the layers and colors going on here and think it works better with the background than without. In the perfect world, I would probably wish for the background rocks to sweep across the frame in a fashion similar to the fg lines. But it still works for me as is... well seen!

Steve,
Honestly, I'm having a hard time getting comfortable with this one. I think perhaps you've got two images in one. It's also a bit and somewhat "muddy" to me. The ocean and the horizon beyond have me intriqued, but then I get lost in trying to figure out the tide pool... which is quite cool, but the whole thing together just has me wandering around the image. Hope I'm not being to harsh... :-)

Lon, you're too nice to be harsh. Tell me how you really feel. j/k. It was a 2 minute exposure so didn't want to handhold a filter so took 2 shots and blended them together guess it's noticeable. Maybe it's too many layers. One thing I find wierd about it is I was just inches away from the stuff and it was flat in front of me. When looking at this I get a feeling that the pool is defying gravity.
Love all opinions of course harsh, mean, even nice ones. The only comments I don't like are rude and insulting comments.
PS what happened to our California forum? It's gotten kind of slow here. I wonder if placing a link on my website would help. My to do list is long enough already.

I'm kind of with Lon here. The top half is nice but the collection of mussels or scallops is kind of dark and doesn't fit quite in.
Steve, I like the composition overall, but do find the 'cloudy or milky' affect throwing things off a bit. I'm use to your very crisp images and this one is not like those. It must be as you mentioned to do with the blends I would assume.

Steve,
I must chime in with Lon.

Feels like two separate images to me. the foreground could be one and the background wow. put together just isn't working for me though because neither is emphasized enough to maintain my interest.
