I love trying to get these guys in the frame. Unfortunately Sunday provided very poor light.

Good job capturing such an elusive and fast-moving wee thing. Looks very good for such a high ISO. Some might say the surroundings are a bit `busy`, but I tend to prefer this sort of shot showing some environment to a BOAS job. Here, I think the surroundings of autumnal fruits and leaves complement the bird nicely. Only possible improvements I can think of would be for the bird to have turned its head a tad towards you, and that perhaps the OOF leaves in front right are the tiniest bit distracting. Nothing you could do about either, though, and both are very minor nits in a picture I would be very pleased to have taken. Just my rambling, late night, should-be-in-bed thoughts. Good job!

I like it! Some may say the surroundings are too busy, but actually I think it works well in this case. The ivy berries really show just how tiny these birds are! I guess a head turn towards you would have been good, but not much you could have done about that! Really lovely and sharp. The only other thing is it looks a bit blue/cyan on my monitor, but I'm guessing that was just how the light was, but it could be warmed up a smidge.

Very nice shot Paul background is fine as thats where they lurk. Shame its heads not turned towards you but you can not have everything. Well done :toast:

Lovely subject, very nice shot. I don't mind the bg too much, but it looks a bit 'cold' to me as well and I would try upping the colour temp a bit.

Yep, also agree about the temp, but well done for getting the subject so sharp

I have lowered the saturation of the background because it was simply to distracting.

Thanks for the comments
