Wondering what you think of this one. Any comments or suggestions would be grrrreat. Thanks. Chip

Clouds are great, but nothing really grabs me about this one. The twigs aren't enough of a foreground anchor to create the necessary depth.

I like the foreground quite well. What I would change is to drop down from the top down to where that cloud line intersects the left side. This helps to move the horizon line up more in the frame.
I like it Chip! Nice work!

I would crop out everything above the waterline. Still though, the photo is not strong enough. It's a really nice photo but it's not a really great photo.
Nice shot, Chip. I like the sweep of the clouds and the triangle shapes of the forested land and the mountains and how they interact as a group of shapes. Colors are good together. In a sense, I think the fg sticks derail the viewer's gaze from following the clouds into the image and back out where the triangles meet; the feeling of depth in the image gets lost. OTOH, the sticks do parallel the flow of the clouds in the reflection, and I kinda like that. I guess you could refocus the viewer's attention upward or downward by a crop one way or the other, but I think in the end it matters more how it looks to you.

Crop either top away or bottom - I actually like both options. But the 2 don't seem to work well together in my opinion.... awesome light !!

Chip, I like the composition as it stands. If I were to crop anything it would be in line of what Rick mentioned above. I especially like the foreground. The pebbles on the lake bottom and twigs first grab your attention and then leads the eye to the reflection and then the mountains beyond. IMHO this image without the foreground would be just another ho-hum reflection shot. Very nice capture!

Wow, a lot of opinions and all over the map! I really like Mark's idea, cropping just below the water line makes for a very intruiging photo. I actually like the twigs better than the log foreground posted on ESS; the logs were too distracting for my tastes.
