I went for a walk along the beach before work this morning with my children. We had received some much needed rain in Monterey. Here is a shot from the Spanish Bay resort in Pebble Beach. The rainbow was a nice surprise which only lasted for a short time. All in all a nice way to start the day.

And here are a few from the rocks in front of the course:

It sure does look like a nice way to start your day. Looks like tee time too. Four!

Derek,

Nice catch of the rainbow. Aesthetically, it's a little off with just a piece of the tee-box on the one side, but you have given the proper space to the sky and rainbow. I really like the first link; great light, crisp and clear like I've experienced in that area and the rainbow is a pretty accent in this one.

what a great morning to be out. Wish I was there.

Yeah,

It was a great way to start the day thats for sure. I agree with Lon regarding the composition. The lawnmower dude was working fast and furious after the rain. So I coudn't get into a better position to frame the rainbow with the green. But it was a beautiful morning none the less.

Thanks for the input.

I am with Lon on all counts. The image with the putting green feels cut off to me. I want more space at the bottom. The image on the first link is quite nice. Fine colors and a good comp.

I think the 2nd image in your links is the best. A pretty good seascape actually though it has the least rainbow. The image posted here isn't working for my compositionally. The foreground isn't utilized effectively and nor is the rainbow that prominently featured.

While the rainbow is smaller, I really enjoy the diagonal tension between the rainbow and the whitecaps in the second image posted. All of them have great color, exposure and light, but I like the second image the most of the bunch. Nice work!
