Oct 19, I was fishing on Little Dixie Lake (5 miles from home) and had my camera with me to try and catch some fall colors. The colors were flat and the wind was blowing. We spotted this eagle on a high limb and I was able to get my gear set up to try some shots. Most were worse than this one - - - . Not a great shot - but it is the first time I have seen an eagle on this lake.

Hopefully it was on its way South to Lake DeGray here in Arkansas . . . where the air is no doubt clearer!

Even though you say this is not a great shot, it's always a pleasure to see one of these magnificent birds in the sky. Maybe he'll stop by NW Arkansas for some chicken before heading for DeGray! Thanks for sharing Merle!

Thanks guys, This is where we first spotted him. The wind was blowing and I had to try and run the trolling motor while laying down in the boat and sneak up on him. Like you, I;m just happy to see one in the area.

Thanks for sharing these two shots with us Merle. The bald eagle understandably inspires those of us fortunate enough to see them in the wild. No wonder our forefathers were compelled to give it such lofty status.
