I have option of buying Autopano Pro ($150) or upgrade to Photoshop CS4 (which of course give me much more than just Panorama stitching)

Now, my question is: does CS4 (or even CS3) is comparable in panorama stitching with APP? Is there anything that APP can do that CS 3/4 can't? Any insight/tips will be very appreciated

Thanks a lot

Arnab: I've never worked with Autopano, but I can say from experience that the photomerge in CS3 and now CS4 is excellent. Plus with CS4 you get the most powerful digital imaging application that's around today. It's hard to see how you could lose picking Photoshop. Regards.

I use Autopano Pro, but with the great improvement in merging that CS3 & 4 have I think I would agree with Greg that going with the CS4 upgrade might make more sense. If you're not pleased with the merge application of CS3/4 you can always backtrack an pick up APP.

CS3 (and I assume CS4 will be even better) have an excellent photomerge program. I have not used Autopano, but it is hard to see how you can improve on Adobe's program. Plus the almost infinite editing potential, I would not hesitate to get the upgrade.

From what I understand CS4 is a huge improvement over an already good stich and merge from CS3. I have not yet tried it... but if it's true then it should be all you need.
