Big Oaks NWR
This is a shot from Old Timbers Lake in the Big Oaks NWR just north of Madison Indiana, 50,000 acres of large unbroken tracts of forest and thousands of acres of open fields make this a photographers paradise.

Go to the Big Oaks NWR site to see all the details and info.

This is a serenity inducing photo if I've ever seen one, Bernie! I like how the diagonal reflection leads to the dead tree in the middle of the lake. Same area as your Cypress shot from the other day?

Thanks Bruce, actually this is from Big Oaks NWR and the Cypress Trees came from Muscatatuck NWR which is about 30 miles west of Big Oak, both of these spots can be pretty amazing !!

Nice image and it sounds like you have some great space to roam in.

Great shot, Bernie. Looks like a good place to bass fishing, too.

Bernie - nice shot! Thanks for sharing....

I visitied Big Oaks briefly once a few years ago and at the time a large part of the refuge was not open to the public. Is that still the case or have they opened more of it? I remember being there in the fall and wishing I could wander the place cause there was a lot of beautiful color, but it was all closed off.....
