Flint Hills, Last Saturday
Wayne and I stood on each side of this draw running mostly east to west as the sun was going down Saturday afternoon. When we drove by this area about an hour or two before I think Wayne could visualize the light here later on. Well, I think he nailed what he was hoping for and I got to benefit from it.

Very nice scene, well captured. All of this prairie stuff is just great. Beautiful soft light, excellent color. Great job going back for this one. :toast:

Beautiful composition and beautiful light and color.

Back-lit color can bring out such great color in fall leaves, and this is a good example of that. The center tree and bushes really light up. I also like the way the scene moves nicely from foreground to background - lots to see! The sunspot in the middle of the picture detracts a little bit, and that's my only nit.

Wow, wonderful light and the contrast between the tan/brown and the fall color is fantastic. I think this is one of your best images Brad. :toast:

Other than the light spot toward the top, this is just lovely. Great comp and textures. I really like the line of glowing cottonwoods. Wish I could go shooting out there sometime with you guys (hint hint)!

Looks like mother nature wasn't the only one doing some painting that evening! Print this big on canvas and sell it as a painting Brad! :toast:

I love the play of light & shadow combined with the colors and textures. The cottonwoods just seal the deal. The flare can be fixed with a little work but that's one reason I moved to the south for most of my exposures.

Shall we head out again this weekend? Oh Angela .....

Dang Brad - you, Wayne, and Ken are really cranking out some beautiful work on the prairie - this is gorgeous! The ghosting at the top really doesn't bother me too much, but, like Wayne said, it could be fixed.

I'm probably going to head up that way Saturday and try to get a few shots Saturday pm and Sunday. The forecast is calling for 20 mph winds Sat., which I'm hoping will let up by sunset. Sunday looks the best with 6-9 mph winds with sub-freezing temps in the morning. Did I hear someone say frost macros? Would be great to hook-up with you sometime over the weekend if we're in the same area. :wavey:

Fix the bright spot, and you have a real winner, Brad. Beautiful scenery. Sure wish I could come east this weekend :(.
