Bishop Creek Aspen
I take it this the south fork of Bishop Creek. You can tell which fork it by the waterfall in the background.
Don't know why I chose the square crop but kind of like it.
Shot the week before the CANP gathering this past October.

I like the layers and colors, along with the kind of zig zag in there. I am a bit thrown off by the inclusion of some foreground on the left, but none on the right. I would rather see a bottom crop, which I find emphasizes the layered effect of the image.

Steve,

I love it. Although we all know that the straight white aspen trunks and grand autumn vistas in CO/UT beat out the Eastern Sierra hands down (99% of the time anyway...) this one comes pretty darn close. I like the mix of colors and the lines and triangles created make for a great composition.

I agree with Harley about the LLC - cleverly disquised by your name... :-)

Oh, same waterfalls? Actually, from what I remember, it's not a natural waterfall, but a drainage pipe, probably for an old mining operation or something, I'm not sure.

Anyway - I love the image.

Yep, know this spot very well too, Steve. You have come up with a very different look from most of the shots around this area. I really like the layering or tiered colors overall. The angle with the lost LRHC does skew the view somewhat, but it is still an excellent keeper IMO.

Steve,

I love the definite lines in this. The color is eye popping as well. Its a great wide view of the area.

I think a vertical crop would work because the ULC feels unresolved to me as is.

Well my very first impression was to suggest a small crop from the bottom, but after looking at this for a bit I'm not so sure. The more I study this the more it feels perfect as is. Colors, exposure and many layers make this a keeper IMO.

Very nice Steve. I think this works well as-is but would also work as a vertical. Cropping the bottom to just at the top of your name works for me like suggested above but it's minor.
