Sunday at sunrise looks very promising for morning fog with sunlight burning through the fog. It will be clear and cold and low wind.
If people are interested, we can meet over near my house at Jordan Lake and shoot the sunrise and autumn colors at the lake. We can go get breakfast afterwards. Here is a shot I took from there this past weekend.

Where do you want to meet? I am looking forward to it. I noticed the East side was at peak this past weekend while the West side was well past (we drove past our old house in Eagle Ridge). There was some great color along Farrington Rd and 751 south of 64. There was also great color net yet at peak (last Sunday) around Harris Lake.

Hi Scott.
These coves are well protected and were early last weekend. They should be at peak this weekend, I suspect.
Lots of nice stuff to shoot around here and just peaking along many sections of the roads in this area.
We can meet at the intersection of Gum Springs Church Rd. and Clark Poe Rd. On Google maps Clark Poe is listed only as road 1977, but Yahoo maps has the name listed correctly. Let's meet there at 6:30, sunrise is at 6:46 and we can go shoot it and the (hopefully) fog and the sunlight burning through the fog and lighting up the trees along the lake. There is also an option to go shoot the Haw river from the bridge and bank depending on conditions.
I'm going to wear my 2' high rubber boots for wading in the water, but hiking boots or tennis shoes should work for anyone who intends to stay on dry land.

I know that location well. It's a spot I used to do bird photography at back when I had a 600 and live a qtr mile from there. Now I have two kids and a college fund. See you Sunday AM.
I do believe the best breakfast spot around there is closed on Sundays. I am referring to the convenience store at US1 and Pittsboro-Moncure road. Great breakfast biscuits and sandwiches.
