Finally got all my summer images sorted and switched my photo hosts (left Smugmug for Flickr - mainly due to the vastly larger community Flickr has, better search visibility) and I'm getting around to getting the new stuff online.

This one was taken back in late July when Trevor and I spent a couple nights romping around the Alpine Lakes. We were camped on the immediate east side of the Cascade Crest and when we woke up, a massive inversion was slamming itself against the mountains and flowing over the top of the peaks we were looking at. At times the clouds were very wispy and made for an outstanding black and white conversion. Of course the color at sunrise was much better and I'll post some of those later.

I like the comp and use of b&w. I would increase the contrast via bringing out the lights a bit more.

A bit foreboding in it's mood. I love how that one section of cloud is tumbling down that narrow valley! The B&W treatment is well down Bryan. I like it! I can agree with Trevor in adding just a bit more contrast would make this even sweeter!

The sticks don't grab me as a foreground, but I love the top 2/3 and think the BW works well. Great mood at the top.
