Superb image John. Great detail, well caught action and a good background. The perch is a little bit boring (horizontal) but that's a very minor nit.

Hi Folks thanks for your nice comments. Andy I took a break from the Forums in the summer months as I would rather be outside enjoying the weather. Colin I went into the hide at 6am and came out at 11am then back again at 4pm and out again at 8pm over a period of days. During the day the light was behind the birds.

Yep, couldn't agree more with what's been said.. Simply stunning capture, great detail and superb action. Not to mention that little. Short tailed field vole that was nailed to make the shot.. Superbly done..

Hi John,
"Not to mention that little, Short tailed field vole that was nailed to make the shot.."
I meant nailed by the Kestrel...! an anthropomorphism on my part...
Sorry, just to explain, I simply meant that despite the tragedy of the death of another nice creature, totally natural for sure, it all adds to the wonderful, natural history shot captured. I did not mean that you had 'baited' with the vole.. Sorry if it seemed that way, not at all... Really admire this work..
Brett
Ps. It is a Short tailed field vole (Clethrionomys glareolus) for sure, not a mouse..!
