I like it! Almost a 3-D pop-up card look (as in children's books?) Great colours. It would be nice it the point of the beak could be separated from the bit of encroaching greenery.
Highly commendable that you are trying different points of view but on a personal level this one just doesn't work for me. Ian mentioned the position of the beak / leaf and that was the first thing that struck me about the image. The composition doesn't sit too easily either. Perhaps a full length portrait may have been better?

Hi Barry nice capture but I have to agree with the other comments.

Like the colours and detail Barry. Just wonder if cropping off the right hand edge to the point where you lose the big leaf would improve the impact (my short cut of holding my hands up to do that improved it for me). Only problem is then the yellow flower head left at the top draws the eye a bit and the bird is looking into dense foliage. Having said that is still an attractive shot

A different angle, i love the colours but i am not sure about the direction inwhich the head is turned. Would like it more en profile but still a nice image!
