Grey Squirrel amongst Autumn Leaves
Been working on these Guys for a couple of weeks but only got a chance this morning to photograph them in some decent light. Its also the first time I have had the chance to try out my new camera

Canon 1DS MK11, 500mm Lens, F4, 1/320, ISO 200

I really like this Danny, you have captured the wonderful light of this time of year not to mention the colour. The control of DOF is spot and detail superb. Very nice indeed.

Grrr... they keep eating the flowers placed on my wifes grave....

Nice one with a good autumnal feel and super graduated bg... perhaps a few less leaves in the fg but that is more a personal preference than a nit...

Superb shot! Great colours and I like the gradient effect of the background. Nice crisp detail on the squirrel too. :toast:

I didn't know these could look so good. Magnificent light. I would lose a tad from the bottom OOF stuff.

Fantastic shot Danny,

So much detail, even at this small resolution.

Autumnal colours, really make for an excellent shot.

Hi Danny,

Really very very nice, no nits from me. I love my 1Ds, it's now my main body of choice, over a MKII and a MKIII, so much so in fact I am considering selling my MKII & MKIII, to fund another 1Ds, as to be honest I dont think I need a camera as fast as a MKII/I.

Nice work

Regards

Rob

Hello Danny.

All the elements work well in this one. Makes for a simple but very strong image, I would be most pleased with this one.

Hello Nigel

Its a 1DS MK11, I brought it second hand and it is more or less brand new with only 7,000 shots taken and not a scratch on it  I have only had one body the 1D MK11 for all the time I have been digital and so when I went on trips it has been a worry but this camera has served me well and has never missed a beat, It will be my back up body but will come into its own when action is happening. I looked at the 5D MK11 but for me this camera didn't feel right. I have been blown away with the quality, detail and sharpness of the 1DS and I think it will last me many years. I will still miss a high ISO setting but for me I always look for good light first and I think it is this that makes an image not a high ISO.

Lovely! Maybe a bit too much space at the top for my taste but overall, very very nice

Hi Danny,

A stunning image. The light, pose, setting and gorgeous golden backdrop really make this one very special indeed.

Can't beat the feel and handling of a pro body, sounds a bit strange..
Nice work Danny, not often a rat with a bushy tail looks this good....

I agree, I very rarely venture above 400iso, (although I am impressed with the 1Ds MkIII high iso performance) whats the point of using it if the light is naff!
Sounds like you have found a bargain, I have a 1Ds MkII as well, its been round the clock 9 times now and still going strong. It has also been totally submerged in the river Dove with no water getting in and no problems as a result.

Told you you'd be pleased didn't I

Just the right amount of OoF foreground and that BG is really rich - nice one Mr.G :wavey: :wavey:
