Carpet of Autumn
Shot last Sunday afternoon out gallivanting with Mr.Hudon... light was pretty good for this subject. The leaves definitely made a good foreground.
1st image with New D700. This is a composite of a bunch of images using Helicon Focus software.
.... was a good afternoon!

Very cool shot Jack. I like the diagonal split between the top and the bottom and the repeating pattern of the trees. The carpet of colorful leaves is the icing. Nice.

Nicely done Jack! I love the comp and that carpet of leaves is wonderful! My only nit is those dark shadows are VERY dark. You might try to brighten them up a bit to get some detail in the shadows.

Great photo Jack. Love the color and light. Looks like that new camera is working for you.

a nice image for sure...I would like to have seen the tree on the left become the center and have the other trees on either side of it.....this image looks very soft and heavily compressed.......how are you saving your images for web presentation......

Darren,
Funny you should mention compression. I was going to make note of the fact that this images looks very compressed compared to the bigger ( orig) image. I reduce the size using the Mark A. technique. I then save it as a JPEG at the highest compression that NPN will allow.
Some work better than others and I agree with you 100% !

Very nice colors.

The tree on the left is smack in my eye, Jack. That leaves a lot of the image as background. Otherwise I like the shot for all the reasons I mentioned in Mark's post: visible tree structure, the colorful leaf carpet, the light, and in this case, the depth and dimension created by the orchard setting.

Looks like you guys had a nice outing.

I do agree about placement of the tree on the left to be more center. However, I think this would make a gorgeous large print!

Very cool Jack. I'd like to see this in a big print.
