Coal Tit
One from the Autumn archives. On oak branch through the room window.
Feeding station starting to liven up a bit now so expect a large number of tit pics!
Usual gear.

I love the mix of subtle colours here John, as usual your top quality shot !
I don't know what other think, what about cloning out the top right leaf & branch? It's not a major thing, but just my train of thought.
lovely image nonetheless !

I love it! The lighting on the leaves is sublime. You probably have lots of cropping options. I don't mind the top branch at all. If you had one that included the whole of the bottom leaves though, that would be better still. Aren't we a fussy lot?

Thanks both. You have both addressed issues about this post I was concerned with. There's a story behind it too ! All will be revealed
Cheers

I like the autumnal feel of this shot. Whilst I am not against cloning, is this case removing leaves would add nothing to the picture, which is great as it is, in my opinion.

Hi Lovely image. No problem with the upper branch. It gives the bird a natural surrounding.

Lovely, great autumnal colours and super sharp and detailed. Excellent composition.

Lovely Autumn colours here John and very complimentary to the Coal Tit.

Really like this (although a personal preference is for anti-square crops) and think the top branch gives you more of a feeling of the Tit sitting in a tree which I like, and those colours on the leaves...lovely!
Like it as is, though I always seem to associate (probably wrongly) these with conifers (that wouldn't have been the same though would it as they are evergreens )
Great feel to this...

Thanks everyone. It's the centre section of the original so I suppose I could have got horizontal out of it. People seem to like it as it is so that's OK

Great shot again John. Agree with Ian's comments about the leaves. Looking forward to you revealing more!

Thanks
Magnus - it was just that this pic got a photo of the week on another forum a while back so I am pleased to see that the general con census merit wise is the same.
I moved the tripod in the room window and smashed a very pretty vase. Wife said "very expensive" !
I said "oops "

It's the lighting on the leaves that makes this really stand out John - nice stuff.

A tad high in the frame but the composition is superb!
