Took a short couple of days down to the sand dunes this last weekend. Apparently I was a few days early for the snow. Oh well, it was a first time visit and I was mainly there as a scouting mission with thoughts of returning during a better time.
Great shot . Great colors. Great balance (nothing blown / nicely controlled). Overall hits the mark perfectly. Again great shot! Wish I was there with my 4x5.

Beautiful shot, Randy--love those clouds!! Any time of year is a good time to visit the Dunes, my favorite visit so far was on Christmas Eve (real quiet).

You came away with something pretty nice for a scouting mission! I've been there a few times now and haven't seen a sunset like this yet. I assume this was a two image blend?

Wish my scouting missions were that good. Great shot!

Thanks everyone for the kind replies.
Guy, this was a single shot taken with a GND and several adjustment layers in Photoshop. It was taken a little after the sun sank below the hills.

In addition to the colors, the composition is wonderful. The image has great visual flow. I really like the balance between the peak of the dune (Star?) on the left with the peak (Mount Herad?) on the right.
