Euphoria
I was unsure about posting this one, but I did so for Preston. After making this photo at the Lundy Canyon Trailhead, I recall Preston telling me he kept thinking about this composition.

It was fun making this as Preston, Lon and Harley all ran roadblock detail as I set up my tripod right in the middle of the dirt road up at the trialhead. They even helped me sort out the exposure.

I was pretty happy that the trunks did not go totally into sillhouette. But I was unhappy with the photo as a straight photo, so I added a soft blur and pulled the opacity on it back some.

It gives me the feeling that I felt while up there, the euphoric yellow glow of the aspen leaves and the gentle breeze that moved them. The striaght photo did not capture it, but I feel this rendition does.

Your thoughts?

Teamwork is the key to success! This is truly wonderful, Youssef. It has the glow and transparency that drew you to the scene. The soft blur works very nicely and the detail, given the very backlit nature of the light, is spot-on. Good job!

We were having fun!

As I said over at ESS, I like this a lot. It works!

The beautiful golden glow and general composition works for me. It has a very pleasant feel to it. Those downward bending branches in the LLC kind of direct my eye out of the image a bit, but that's only a minor nit for me. Good stuff!

WOW, I sure missed seing this one until just now, Youssef. Very nice indeed. The detail is perfect in the tree trunks and limbs even with the amount of very strong backlighting being cast through the leaves.
