This scenic is located near Fern Springs on the valley floor of the park. I made a background layer and applied a gaussian blur filter. Then in levels I significantly increased the saturation.

Neat effect you have achieved. I find myself wanting it bigger as the size posted looks far smaller than the 720 pixels allowed here. It is tough to get a good look at the image.

Looks like a beautiful setting that is well captured and rendered. I just wish I could see it a little larger to soak in more of the subtle details. Nice work!

Robert,
Welcome to NPN and especially CANP! Glad to have you here. You might want to drop a note in the thread, "CANP rollcall" and let Preston know and he can list you as a CANP member. Also, you might want to introduce yourself - what you like to shoot, where you're from, and what your experience is, etc.
As far as the image, I like it very much. I know exactly where that is as I've photographed that spot before as well. I would like to see it larger of course, but I like the dreamy effect by the Orton effect as well as the high contrast. If I had a nit pick, it would be the heavy, dark trunk at the top. I'm wishing I could see more detail there. Perhaps the detail is there, but the Orton technique will darken areas like this.
Anyway, a nice and unique image from Yosemite. Welcome aboard.

Very beautiful image Robert. Very dreamy too. I wouldn't of even guessed Yosemite if you hadn't mentioned it.
Hello Robert, as well as a welcome note to the CANP group too. This is a really wonderful scene and I surely enjoy the moss coverage here. As previously stated, it would be easier to make a complete review of the image if posted at the 720 pixel long side. However, even at this size one can see some fine quality to this composition overall.

I am reposting the Moss Covered Rocks and Tree image at 720 pixels. Hopefully this will
make it easier for all of you who previously commented to review. I appreciate your past
comments and welcome your comments on the new post.

As a new member with only my second post, I'm still trying to get the hang of things.

Robert, a nice image and unique for Yosemite as you don't generally see that kind of thick moss. Nice capture and welcome to NPN and CANP
