Fall Color Contest – Post Now Post Later?

Everyone,

so far we have received 31 submissions to the fall color contest. This is slightly less than half of the 68 images submitted last year.

One forum member suggested that we should wait until all submissions have been received, and only post all pictures after the deadline of November 17. This would make it fairer to those who submitted early, since they cannot change their images based on what has already been submitted.

Rich and I thought this is a good idea, but we wanted to check with the forum members first.

Let me know what you guys think – see images now or wait?

I'm down for waiting....it makes it more fun Can't wait to see all the wonderful shots from this year!

Like I wouldn't submit what I thought was my best in the first place.

I guess some of y'all may feel the need to hold back and take it easy on the rest of us though. (thanks BTW)

I actually have a couple that might compete this year - better get on it.

Posting all at once at the end of submissions sounds ok IMO.

I agree. I like the idea of showing the collection all at once. But please make sure you get your pics in by the Nov 17th Deadline.

All at once - at the end. It'll be like Christmas morning. Can't wait to see some fine images.

Once I figure out how to size them properly Ill be submitting...hopefully by Friday. I say wait and post them all at once.

In my case, I just haven't had time to go through my fall images yet. So I haven't submitted anything yet. Others may be in the same boat. Anyway, I'd wait and post them after the deadline. I doubt anyone would change images, but I like the all at once approach.

I think the only way someone would actually change their image is if another person had submitted the same subject (dallas divide or something) that was really outstanding / unique. But otherwise I think you select your best and let it ride. I like the show 'em at once theory, makes it almost like a juried show or something. Except we are all the jurors - which rocks.

Either way works for me. The fall contest is always a little extra incentive for me and appreciate the moderators help putting things together. It will be great to see what others have come up with.

I'm with Amy, Post now! I've never been good at waiting. You never know what will happen tomorrow!

I'm for posting the images at once, but you may want to push the first voting day back one day or so to give you some time to correct any possible mistakes after they've been posted (for instance if someone's images accidentally don't show up even though they paid or any other technical problems that could arise).This would be so that we have time to let you know if there are any problems with the images before the voting is skewed in case something goes wrong.

I think you should post the photos after the winner has been determined. The voting should be done purely by number (1, 2....31, 32...) based on the psychic impressions of the voter.
