Howdy everyone!

The wife and I went up toward Bear lake to hike around in the snow this past Veteran's day. On the way up I stopped in Moraine park and took a quick snap shot. I liked it and thought I would share.

C&C always welcome!

Nice shot. This is definitely one of my favorite places. The BW conversion looks good to me, a lot of tonal range is displayed here. Looks like it was pretty windy up there on the peaks.

Certainly looks pretty stormy up on the peaks, I think the B&W choice works well here Steven!. Bet there is some nice fresh snow up there right now, is the wind going to continue up there this weekend?.

Joshua,

Thanks for the reply. After 100 looks and no comments I was wondering if the subject was just not interesting/dramatic enough of maybe it was over shot.

Glad you liked the convert - LR sure makes it easy. The color image did not allow the sky to stand out as well as the converted image.

Nick,

Good to hear from you and thanks for the kind words. It was a little gusty last Tuesday, but not too bad. Since then I am sure there have been some good winds and a little snow. Probably will be breezy through the weekend and early next week with some wave clouds (or so the models suggest). You thinking of going up?

I like this Steven, especially the comp, but it's too small for my aging eyes to make any technical comments. I go to RMNP a lot and never get tired of shots from there, so keep posting.
BTW, the forum has been pretty quiet since since the trees lost their leaves. Don't take the lack of comments personally.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the comments. Yes, it looks a little better and easier to view when it is printed as an 8x10.
