Managed to get this little fellow on route to Cotopaxi in September, one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. However, I would appreciate if anyone can confirm if my ID is correct. If not, happy to be advised

I would agree with your ID of this bird however Brown-backed Chat-tyrant Ochthoeca fumicolor is similar and shows the rufous colour on the breast going right down to the undersides; but whatever it is, it is a great shot with perfectly complimentary BG colours too, nice work.

Hi Steve,
Nice looking bird, a member of the Chat family? Very nice comp, perch and BG.
I do think it has been a tad over sharpened though.
Regards
Rob

No Rob Tyrannidae are Tyrant Flycatchers and they are an entirely New world family confined to the Americas, theres about 400 species within 98 genera of them, they are not even closely related to our familiar Old world Flycatchers although they resemble them in shape and habits.
